A Message from Dr. Nancy Lynne Westfield
Friends,
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused us to think expansively about the kind of support, inspiration, and outlet we can provide to you. We want to bring new voices to bear upon the conversation on teaching and learning in the digital age. And we want to recognize that during a pandemic, we need creativity and imagination to make sense of what is happening. With this in mind, I would like to announce the opening of the “Teacher’s Art Corner.” This new dimension of our website is a gallery space to showcase your artistic reflections on your experiences of teaching and the challenges of the teaching life. We are accepting submissions of poetry, creative prose, drawings, and photos. You do not have to be a professional artist to submit.
We recognize that inspiration and encouragement often comes from the artist expressions of others. We want you to appreciate the work of others when poetry and photography are posted. We also know that by providing an outlet for your creative work that the muse will likely linger with you. We are hoping you will share your original work so the world is exposed to your perspective and hears, in new ways, what you have to say. There is much to learn from one another through the many artistic expressions which will be shared in this gallery space. The new web-page will open as soon as we have submitted materials.
Please submit an electronic document, image, or photograph of your art to: Dr. Paul Myhre at myhrep@wabash.edu. Please do not snail mail actual objects; they will not be returned.
This should be great fun and oh so provocative!
Peace,
Nancy Lynne Westfield
